Dear Sirs,

Referring to your letter of the 13th inst. reference DWS/IKS in regard to the slow return of the rams, we agree with your conclusions in regard to the cause being due to the gland swelling due to the action of mineral oil, but since receiving this we have received a letter from one of our engineers at Hendon, and attach copy of same hereto.

Until I received this later information I was under the impression the original case referred to was an isolated one, but as this is not the case, it appears to me that a leaflet will have to be sent to all owners of our cars with Hydraulic Jacks, warning them against cleaning the rams with any oil other than that used for the system.

I shall be pleased to have your views after you have considered this matter in view of the further report.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
