We note the modification you have carried out to prevent the above, but we rather think that it is a process to be deprecated in view of the fact that the dust covers are also water excluders, and machining away any clearance at this point must make the brakes more susceptible to the collection of water. We are investigating here the possibility of providing a small contact brush mounted on the cap over the hub in such a way that it connects the centre spindle of the wheel to the frame fittings and thus prevents the formation of any static potential between the brake drum and the brake shoes.
