HOD also HODa To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. All Testers. c. Log Book. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/MH.{M. Huckerby}1.8.38. B.III. This car continues to be a pleasure to drive. We consider that the following points should receive attention. (1) Gap round hand brake lever. (2) Steering analysis (a) Measurement of where the sponge now existing is located. (b) Analysis of how much ball bearing thrust would lighten steering for shunting. (3) Brakes noisy on release. Cannot this be eliminated with a rubber stop instead of complication of 2 way damper. (4) Feel convinced that we shall be better off with ½ to 1º backward pivot lean under conditions of heavy braking. We should revert to this and try for low speed wobbles. (5) Car rides much better with full load than with front passengers only. We should try variable rate rear leaf springs (see Automotive Industries). This might also improve pitching generally. (6) We should fit up a solenoid operated reserve for the petrol supply. (7) The exhaust system has two faults - (a) Hiss audible in the car at 2000 r.p.m. with all windows closed. (b) Tail pipe noise audible with windows open. We should work with Burgess to improve the system without adding too much weight or losing any more H.P. | ||
