| x 206 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c.c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}l/HP.17.11.33. Bentley Brake Linkage. Direct operation to 4 wheels. With further reference to N. Sch. 3869 diagram of linkage in left hand corner, it is now considered that the direct leverage of approximately 16 to 1 to each brake giving a total direct leverage of 32 to 1, is too high, and we shall have to reduce it to not more than 25 to 1 total leverage. We send, therefore, herewith N. Sch.3879,diagram showing the modifications to the levers and to the cam angle to produce this change without appreciable modification to the total braking. Owing to the reduced diameter of cam radius the cam angle can still be 50°. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
