X 295. Extract from R3/G1.3.20. X.2941- RE DYNAMO ON CURRENT CARS. X.3770. X.3014. X.1915. X.295. As regards the Smith machine, I think it would be quite worth/getting a number of these, since the Lucas are doing so badly and let PN{Mr Northey}, have one on his person-al car, so that he can compare it after his experience with the Lucas. Should this Smith machine prove satisfactory, I propose that we abandon the Lucas models for this fitting. warn them at present of their short-comings. It would be necessary for PN.{Mr Northey} and CH to tell us exactly the speeds at which they do cut in, the speed which we have specified in the order to them, and for Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}, to inform us whether a supply can be obtained from the Smith people, providing their machine, is chosen as satisfactory. I should like one of the Smith machines sent to me for inspection; | ||
