Centralised Chassis Lubrication.

Replying to BYZ/H.17.8.27. it is intended that we should buy the drip plugs from Bijur, they have designed a special combined set screw drip plug valve and filter shewn on their drawing A-2508., and a similar double banjo on their drawing A-2509., for making an extra connection. The manufacture of the drip plugs is too finicking a job we think for us to undertake at the present minute, if at all, but it is intended that we should make all the other fittings, such as the small .250 banjos, the fittings on the front axle, etc. The pipe fittings and connections in the frame we will we think without exception be of a very simple nature.

Regarding the .437 banjos for use on the drip plugs it is immaterial we think whether we buy them out or make them.

With reference to the sizes of threads the only information we have is on a picture drawing which does not give exact dimensions of the thread. Mr.Bijur said that Messrs Lucas were handling the job in England, and we suggest that we get in communication with them with a view to seeing whether they could supply these drip plugs with a B.S.F. 7/16" thread, otherwise it does look as though at first we should have to use the American threads.

With reference to the sizes of drip plugs, they of course differ at the various points, and we shall have to send you a list giving initial proposals for the drip plugs used on the first experiment.
