2 J.D.118. All the plates have arched supports in lieu of feet, this gives a slight increase in capacity by using deeper plates. The wood separators were in a fair condition. They were bad fitting i.e. being too short & did not come to the edge of the plates thus allowing the neighbouring plates to come in contact. They were also very thin. These points shew why the battery has given good bench results, as the separators have been thinned down to a minimum giving more plate room, & at the same time reducing its internal resistance considerably. I do not consider this battery to be equal to our Slot batteries either in life or condition. Probably the later batteries incorporating the "Wilderman" separators will give a better life. g.j. | ||
