"Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}" Derby. Re: 15-EX. -------- We are in receipt of your telegram, reading :- " EXPERIMENTAL CAR FIFTEEN EX WRECKED AT AMIENS BRIGGS " " AT HOTEL UNIVERSE AMIENS PLEASE ARRANGE EXAMINATION " " OF FIFTEEN EX FOR INSURANCE AND TRANSPORT TO DERBY " " AS EXPEDITIOUSLY AS POSSIBLE " and immediately replied, as under :- " HAWKINS AT AMIENS DOING NECESSARY REPORT FOLLOWS " "Hk{Col. T. Harker - Sales}" received a telephone message this morning from "CWB" at Amiens, advising him of this most regrettable accident while the car was on its way to England to catch the 11:35 boat this morning from Boulogne. "CWB" was evidently too upset to give us much information over the telephone, merely stating that Butler had sustained a broken left leg and injuries to his head. Apparently, no other persons were injured in this accident. As "Hk{Col. T. Harker - Sales}" did not wish to bother "CWB" with many details over the 'phone he informed him that he was leaving immediately with a car and started off right away for Amiens. As soon as we can give you any further details, we shall send you a full report. Hk.{Col. T. Harker - Sales} | ||
