To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (X7380) DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M17.7.26. SCUTTLE ARMATURES WITH CAST DASHES. X. 7380 X. 7500 X. 8500 X. 7940 Herewith we send N.sch.2236 shewing the proposed method of stiffening the front scuttle armature xxxx when a cast dash is used. The proposal is necessarily rather experimental and it is intended to fit the scuttle on 12-EX before it goes to France in order that the method can be tested. The doubtful point is the general reduction in thickness due to the use of the cast dash. We also suggest that a set of pieces of the subframe type should be made for the body for EAC. 7. which is now in process of being ordered.
