STANDARD PHANTOM CLUTCH.
G.75105 FABRICS

We have carried out further tests in slipping the clutch fitted up with a standard fabric on the back plate with extra rivets, and the pressure plate fitted with the circular woven fabric with standard rivets.

The results of the test show that the circular woven fabric is a decided improvement over the standard fabric using the lesser rivets. There is no sign of the fabric spreading or dragging at any of the rivets.

The standard fabric fitted to the back plate with the extra rivets is a decided improvement than when using the lesser amount of rivets, and for replacement and production with this fabric the failure of the fabric spreading will be considerably reduced. The test however, shows that with the extra rivets there is still a slight tendency for the fabric to spread, there being three distinct bulges on the inside dia. where the rivets hold the fabric, also the rivets show slight digging in the fabric due to its spreading. The joint of the fabric has opened out at the outer dia.
