X6001 By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/CAP. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/CAP1/ADL9.5.31. DYNAMO AND SWITCHBOX FOR 25-EX. In connection with the 10,000 mile test of 25-EX in France, we propose fitting to this car a dynamo and switchbox as detailed below and would be pleased if you would instruct accordingly. Dynamo. This to be a L.H. machine and of the type recently developed i.e having a 48 coil armature with 5 turns per coil (20 conductors per slot) of 17 S.W.G. wire, the coils being untaped. The poles to be tapered in the usual manner from a normal air gap of .022" Switchbox. The existing switchbox at present on the car to be modified so as to give full output in the S & T position of the lamp switch. It will then be present standard in this respect. Further to be so modified as to allow the charging circuit to be broken at the field circuit contacts before breaking at the armature contacts. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/C.
