To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.1/MH.{M. Huckerby}12.10.38. HEATING & VENTILATING SYSTEM ON 28.G.VI. 1158. The scheme fitted up on above car has given promising experimental results, but has two disadvantages - (a) It does not give an adequate fresh air supply. (b) If it is necessary to apply it to B.50, as it will be, a number of difficulties arise owing to body construction. We also have an A.C. radiator and fan unit now which can be obtained at very low cost, and wish to utilise this in the scheme. Accordingly, we would like you to instruct the necessary sheet metal modifications, to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std's verbal instructions, to be carried out on this car while it is in the Garage. Will Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} also instruct the coach builders to make slight modifications in accordance with Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std's instructions.
