12th. October 1938.

We would like you to consider the above remarks and examine the scheme and let us know with a minimum of delay if possible, whether any difficulty would be experienced in supplying these pieces as a production proposition.

If the shheme presents no serious objections, we would like you to send us three sets of parts immediately and we will send you an official order for these. The parts in question comprise:-

(1) 3 A.C. production type heaters cases, together with fastening screws and rubber blocks for locating matrix unit. If possible we would like these casings supplied unpainted as we prefer a stove enamelled black finish unless you can supply your standard finish in black.

(2) 3 Vauxhall radiator matrix units (complete with shut off taps).

(3) 3 motors and fans either with standard spindles or with spindles lengthened by 2 1/8", but with end covers with machined spigots as shown on scheme - the size of the spigot can be determined by yourselves, but we would like to know what it should be as soon as possible. One of these motors should be of the high speed type while the other two should be low speed (1950 r.p.m.) ones - the motor of this type already requested by us can constitute one of the above three required.

As we are anxious to push forward with these heater experiments an early reply would be appreciated - if possible, the writer would like Mr.Bennion-Browne to ring him to-morrow on the subject.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
