S.U. PETROL PUMPS

FOR 3½ LITRE BENTLEY CHASSIS.

We have pointed out to the S.U. Co. that the finish of the last pumps supplied to us is by no means good enough.

The next few pumps which are due at the end of the present week will have :-

(1) A cleaner and better enamel finish to the pump casting.

(2) Spot faced 2 BA. holes in pump flanges to prevent misalignment of 2 BA. studs.

(3) The 2 BA. studs slightly shorter so that they do not protrude too far from the reach studs.

The last two pumps supplied by the S.U. Co. should be returned for correction as the studs are badly out of alignment, and the finish is not good enough for production cars. They seem to have trouble with stove enameIling of the pump casting, and say that the paraffin used for testing penetrates the enamel which causes it to come off. It would seem that they do not stove enamel correctly, and we think it would be well for us to once again go over with them the method we use. We believe they are using an enamel recommended by us.
