Capt. Wilks,
The Rover Company Ltd.,
COVENTRY.

Dear Wilks,

Thank you so much for doing my wife's car so promptly and so efficiently. It is certainly 75% quieter than it was previously, and the oil consumption in the few miles which have so far been covered appears to be very good.

Here is a problem for you! Grylls is my chief assistant who entertained you whilst I was busy the other day. He wants to buy a Rover car. For various reasons he wanted to deal through Barkers, with whom of course we do a great deal of business. The nett result of his efforts to purchase a Rover is indicated in the enclosed two letters. I know your difficulties and dislike worrying you, but can anything be done about it ? Rolls-Royce staff are really becoming quite good customers of Rovers!

We think we have about killed the tyre noise on Ph.III now, so if you bump into it on your "20" when you get the final body on I think we can give you a fair summary of the possible palliatives.

Can you give me any real idea as to when I may be able to purchase a "20" ? Is it going to be a very expensive motor car ?

You will recollect you said you could give me an introduction to the gentlemen responsible for the S.S. Jaguar; I would very much like to see this engine unit made if this is possible.

Yours sincerely,
