Sidge SWDC What about the oil press? P 361? N/W Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/SWD c. to Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} c. to Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} c. to HA Technical - Phantom III Over-Oiling. 3617 With reference to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/SWDL.{Len H. Swindell}10/JH.6.12.37, we have just carried out your suggested modification for dealing with the above trouble without supplying and fitting new valve guides, on Chassis 3-CP-104 (Major Colin Cooper). From the over-oiling point of view this has proved very successful, but we did find that on the road at high speeds the oil pressure gauge goes right over and past the 40 lb mark, although at lower speeds it drops back to normal. This was when the engine was quite hot. We feel we ought to report this to you in case you consider it desirable to make some other modification to avoid this abnormal oil pressure at high speed.
