(2) paid. For instance the duty on cars entering France weighing up to 50 cwt is 70% ad valorem. Thus on a car valued at £500 the duty would be £350. The Banker's indemnity should be - in this case e valid for £350 and the only amount to be paid in cash is 21/- on the basis of 6/-% on the duty value - £350. INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLING PASS. This document serves as a licence for the car, motor cycle, motor cycle and side car and driver or drivers avoiding registration after arrival abroad and can be issued by the Club in advance subject to the car or machine as the case may be, being examined before departure by an International Travelling Pass Examiner, which document works in conjunction with the ordinary British Registration Numbers with the simple edition of a "G.B." plate to be attached to the rear of the vehicle as near to the ordinary British Registration Numbers as is possible, so that both are clearly visible, which "G.B." plate is also provided by the Touring Department with the International Travelling Pass. Two small photographs of each driver, head and shoulders only, unmounted, measuring approximately two inches square, should be handed to the Examiner. The examination of the car, motor cycle or motor cycle and side car can be undertaken at the Club by the Examiner on the staff of the Touring Department by appointment, or if in the country, the nearest Examiner to you is R.{Sir Henry Royce} Sutton Clifford Junr.
