We have given the above X number for the experiment mentioned in Mr Olley's memo Oy4/W3616 (copy of which is attached) re hand starter gear breakages on the Eagle engines, in which he says in the third item in the last paragraph "What will the large shaft stand under a static test (a) in C.H.N.S. and (b) in a high grade steel (if this has been used)." This refers to the hand starter worm wheel shaft. | ||
