PETO & RADFORD. CONTINUATION]. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., If this is going to happen it will be serious, the charging current you have now decided on is on the high side and if it is likely to increase beyond this, it will get to a point where the useful life of the battery is going to be unduly shortened. As explained before, the batteries we shall be delivering in a week or two will be very much more able to withstand overcharging than anything you have ever had before, and this certainly will help matters. What does your instruction book say about summer running, is the driver advised to keep the dynamo switched off for say half or two thirds the running during the summer when the lights are not much used? Does the switching on of the headlamps automatically put the dynamo on charge? If you would let us have replies to the points raised we hope to be able to give you a final reply. Yours faithfully, PETO & RADFORD. G.R.N. Minchin | ||
