-4- (12) TYRE PRESSURE. MICHELIN. He. said this question is being taken up with makers, and information will be sent round. (13) CUSTOMS DECLARATIONS AND PROFIT TO BE ADDED. Same sub-committee elected as for Minute (6). (14) DISTANCE PIECES AND LONG BOLTS FOR FASTENING BODY TO FRAME. These pieces and bolts vary according to different frames. In the Erecting Shop special pieces and bolts are made and fitted on to each frame. These, in the Test Dept., in the past, have been taken out to facilitate fitting of test bodies. In this way the pieces and bolts have become mixed and when the chassis goes to the coachbuilders certain of the pieces and bolts are not fitted. It was agreed that in future the pieces and bolts which are fitted to each chassis in the Erecting Shop should be left on each chassis when on test, and then the correct bolts will arrive on the chassis at the coachbuilders. (15) THRUST BEARING ON NEW CARS TO BE EXPORTED VERY SHORTLY. It was stated that there are 50 chassis at the coachbuilders and 33 at E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and that it costs about £16-16-0. to put on the modified bearing. It was agreed that C. and EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} get further information and bring it before CJ. (16) (a) POSITION OF PRIMING COCK. It was thought that the present position was most inconvenient and that it would be much better on the dashboard. It was agreed that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} should send out a standardisation sheet for the same at once. (b) IMPROVED PRIMING DEVICE. Agreed that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} should send out a standardisation sheet at once and if it is agreed to, that BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} should carry on. (c) THE DOTIS VAPOURISER. This question was brought up, but Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} thought it had not gone far enough for standardisation yet. (17) FOUR WHEEL BRAKES. Agreed that these brakes were needed on the 40/50HP chassis as soon as possible. | ||
