It was stated that the scrap would amount to about £14,000 and that roughly about 600 chassis would be effected, half of which would be outside our programme, which extends to the end of May 1923.

The effect on capital in respect of 300 cars would be £14,000.

The conference agreed that the sale of the 40/50HP chassis will, so far as drivers of fast cars are concerned, stop from now onwards, until front wheel brakes are fitted.

It was also agreed that PN.{Mr Northey} should go and see R.{Sir Henry Royce} about this matter before the Show. It was further agreed that we should have no hesitation in scrapping up to £20,000 in order to get these brakes as soon as possible.

It was suggested that in order to get these brakes quickly, we should take advantage of the experience of Delage, and Hispano etc. and take a license from Perot.

As regards Goshawk, without interfering with early delivery of Goshawk they should be brought in as quickly as possible, as quite apart from reasons of expediency, people will shortly refuse to purchase any chassis capable of a speed of 55 miles per hour, unless fitted with front wheel brakes.
