(7) GOSHAWK. PN{Mr Northey}'S REPORT ON SAME.

This was discussed during Minute (A).

(8) SPRINGING.

We draw R's attention to the fact that there are 1350 chassis at present fitted with the thick leaved type rear springs. The cost of changing rear springs from thick to thin leaf is £19-10-0 plus extra charge for painting. This gives no credit for springs taken off as they have only a scrap value.

The changing at our cost from thick to thin is creating an ever increasing demand for this change to be made, and might eventually land the Company in a cost of £27,000.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has been asked to put before R.{Sir Henry Royce} particulars of and experience with Shock Absorbers, costing perhaps £5, which might cure many cases, with a view to getting R.{Sir Henry Royce} to consent to their use.

It was agreed that this charge of £5 for Stock Absorbers should be paid by the customer. It was also agreed that Sr. should continue his methods of overcoming owner's complaints of squeaking springs.

(9) RE LOSS OF WATER IN HILL CLIMBING.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is taking steps to improve this. It was agreed that if foreign customers want them, they could always have shutters in their bonnets, but not louvres, so long as it was made clear to the customer that a bonnet with shutters could not be polished so effectively as a plain bonnet.

(10) SA'S LETTER TO CJ. RE CADILLAC PEOPLE'S METHODS OF GETTING BUSINESS IN SPAIN.

This matter was referred to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and correspondence passed to him.

(11) DIFFICULTY OF OBTAINING LUBRICATING OILS ABROAD.

Supposing it is not possible to obtain Price's Oils it was thought that in countries like France and U.S.A. where we have large Depots it ought to be left to our experts in these countries to settle on an oil which is quite satisfactory.

In other countries where we have not got Depots or Agents, such as Japan, it was agreed that Vacuum B.B. was a good oil.
