Inspection report detailing the condition of rear brakes, front axle, and cross steering tube components.

Rear Brakes. RR. Scheme 235.

1. Ferodo linings - these are in good condition. The linings on the foot brake have worn .100" and those on the hand brake .075".

2. Auxiliary straps - Condition good.

3. Hand brake toggles G.100316 - one toggle is bent, but it should be noted that these are not the latest strengthened type.

4. The distance pieces for fulcrum G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 100971 are very dry as there is no provision for lubrication.

5. Actuating Shafts G.100972/3 - these are in good condition and there is no evidence of wear. Lubrication of same is good.
Water has entered the bearing tube of the foot brake act. shaft on near side.

6. Mud Excluders - these are inefficient and mud has entered the brake gear in excessive quantities.

7. Brake Drums - these are very rusty internally. It should be noted that the whole brake gear lacked drain holes.
Brake drums are now provided with drain holes.

Cross Steering Tube - RR. Scheme 184

Condition good.

Front Axle & Brakes - RR. Schemes 141-3-4-5-151-185-6.

1. The alum. bearing for actuating shafts in carrier plate is worn bell-mouthed.

2. The actuating shaft bushes shew slight signs of wear probably due to deflection of the shafts.

3. Pivot pins and bearings are in good condition.

4. Ferodo linings in good condition.
