Attention of Mr.F.Parnell.

Dear Sirs,

We have today instructed our order office to order up 3 complete sets of parts for the Myth Brakes.

We should like to know how many aluminium wheel cylinder castings will be required to complete the three sets we still have the patterns. At the same time, we shall be interested to hear how successful these have been on test.

With regard to lining material, we believe your calculations and tests have been made using a frictional coefficient of the order of 0.35. We have a non-fade, non-squeak lining that we should like to try, but its coefficient is only about 0.26. We should be grateful for your opinion before ordering up these linings. Our attitude in the matter is that we might get away with the lower friction lining, if it is not shown up by using our standard higher friction lining first.

We are still doing our best to urge the brake drums but we are afraid there will be more delay before we get them.

Yours faithfully,
for -ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED,
