Pedal Mounting.

In view of the recommendation to return to the present trunnion type front engine mounting the link from the pedals to the engine should be removed.

SPECTRECodename for Phantom III.

Future programme for SpectreCodename for Phantom III was discussed, more particularly with regard to arriving at a specification for the next SpectreCodename for Phantom III chassis. If possible it was agreed to incorporate the following new features:-

(1) New short duration camshaft and valve springs to suit. A design for this is available.

(2) Ground Textolite timing gears.

(3) Lightened cylinder liners to LeC.4022 but in ordinary steel.

(4) Aerolite pistons. Design Department will look into the question of any design required.

(5) White Metal main bearings.

(6) Lead bronze big end bearings with new connecting rod to LeC.3860.

(7) Cadillac type of hydraulic tappets with aluminium alloy tappet blocks.

(8) Oil filters for auto adjusting tappets. Design required.

(9) Present valve springs on SpectreCodename for Phantom III bounce too early. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}promised to supply a report on this. Lighter inlet valves are required and the Design Department
