Item 9 on agenda - Spring control for starter carburetter. 20/25 and 40/50. See Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ14.10.31 and SelP/15.10.31.

This will come in as standard on "U" Series for 20/25. P.II is not being altered to spring control, as it has the extra oil control on same lever and the necessity for spring return is not so desirable. The point will be watched on new designs.

Item 10 on agenda - Lowered controls and position.

Lowered controls will be on all new models.

Item 11 on agenda - Controllable shock dampers. Position generally. See item 3 in Minutes of last meeting.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said that a design had just been completed this week. He stated that he has a scheme in mind for automatic adjustment and he will provide Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} with sketches to enable a temporary rig up to be made to try out the scheme.

Item 12 on agenda - 20/25 Instrument Boards and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst4/KT22.10.31.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} exhibited a sample instrument panel supplied by Smiths. He gave the following prices for comparison.

Cost of present group of standard instruments..... 14.3. 6.
Set of Smith Instruments in their standard black... 5.7. 6.
Set of Smith Instruments in special photographic black..... 7.3. 6.

It was decided that the standard Smith black finish to the dials be accepted in view of the saving in cost.

It was decided to ask Smiths to quote for the panel and frame with the instruments ready mounted. Simultaneously Works are to quote for making the panel to take the instruments (Smiths).

It was noted that the method of retaining the instruments in the frame requires improvement.

Not on agenda.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} enquired how soon we could adopt the use of two Ford size accumulators of improved design on P.II.
BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} will look into this and give the information.
BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} was requested to investigate the accumulator cost on 20/25 with a view to reduction being made. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has certain information on the subject.
