-2- (4) contd. We would suggest that in dealing with the inlet pipes which we are prepared to clear for production the on the first 100 cars, that we should limit the rate at which they are produced to keep it within reason, as we may find some further improvement. High petrol consumption is forcing us to carry the investigation further. (5) Oil Sump Indicator. The should be released for the production of designs for the tools and immediately we can build a unit fitted to the crankcase, we will be prepared to release for Production. The design in question is ECD.255 being that which raises the indicator to the upper half of the crankcase. The crankcase already carries a boss suitable for these requirements. (6) Radiator Filler. a scheme being prepared A new form of filler to XXXD. will replace the scheme used on the first six cars. It is a lighter and simpler job and permits easier filling and can be got at easier. (7) Bonnet. This we are releasing with the standard R.R. hinge and usual aluminium construction. (8) Rear Springs. Release as 26.G.Vl.{V. Lewis / Mr Valentine} (9) Pedals. We are releasing this to a scheme suggested by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC{N. R. Chandler}, by which rubber rings are fitted behind the clutch pedal plate on the stem of the pedal. A drawing will be produced immediately for this piece. The existing parts are unaltered. Pedal part list F.W.964 (10) Rear Roll Rod and Dampers. Release as 26.G.Vl.{V. Lewis / Mr Valentine} Part List No. FW.1085 , continued | ||
