Dear Mr.Robotham,

Thanks for your letter of the 31st ult. re pumps. Do these remarks refer to the latest pumps as apparently some of them refer to the old gut diaphragms. I do not think the nuts are loose when they leave our place, otherwise it would cause leakage, but it may be that as the diaphragm material is slightly compressible the nuts can be tightened up after usage. I am afraid I do not quite know what is meant by No.4.

I can assure you that inspection on your stuff is now very rigid, as since the last little episode at your works things have been hotted up in this respect very considerably.

Dixon- You might with advantage get hold of G.W.H. when he returns to the works & go over & see S.U.'s casually having a look at their inspection
