To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. Copy to.... Dav. X9270 BJ10/H12.1.26. "NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I" STARTING HANDLE. With reference to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/T29.12.25, one of the diffi-culties, which has perhaps not been recognised by W.W., is that a very large number of our customers use their cars only in London and the batteries get run down. Therefore if the electric starter is used every morning when the engine is very cold, it takes a lot out of the battery. For this reason a number of drivers consider it desirable to turn the engine over a new timesby means of the starting handle. They strongly object to taking out the starting handle, and would much prefer that it should be fitted in an accessible position on the dashboard. Can W. suggest some suitable fitting on the dash-board whilst R.{Sir Henry Royce} is considering whether it would be possible to make this starting handle altogether smaller? B.J. | ||
