| 1. 14th. April, 1936. There are one or two points which I should be glad if you would give special attention to on my car, which I trust will be ready at the end of this week. 1. The way in which the engine is turned out is very unsatisfactory. It was covered with a mixture of cellulose and some sticky substance. Also a lot of jointing material between the block and the cylinder head had been allowed to run down outside of the casting. The finish of the cover over the tappets was rather rough. I think you will agree that one is entitled to expect that the finish under the bonnet should be in keeping with the exterior of the car. Will you please see that all the ravaging of the coachbuilder is removed from my engine. 2. The scuttle ventilator is not air tight, and creates an unpleasant draught on the feet. Both my previous cars have suffered from this defect. 3. The cables to the instruments are very noisy. I have also suffered from this complaint on my two previous cars. 4. I do not like the place chosen for the inspection lamp as it scratches ones shoes. I would like it put somewhere higher up out of the way. 5. It is impossible to read the time from the driver's seat unless it happens to be 6.30. Will you please arrange for a revolution counter to be fitted with a clock fitted at the bottom instead of the top. I would not like the delivery to be held up for this item which perhaps could be changed at a later date. Yours faithfully, | ||
