Dear Robotham, Many thanks for your letter just to hand, from which I note you are willing to purchase a Bentley which is fitted with an extra large body. I do not know of one at the moment but I will bear your requirements in mind and advise you should I come across such a car. A friend of mine has a 1936 4¼-litre with an Arthur Mulliner body which is such a scruffy looking car that I would not like to buy it for stock. It can be purchased for £750 ( seven hundred and fifty pounds ). I am paying anything from £900 to £1000 for any nice looking 1936 4¼s. Regarding my own car, for the past three weeks I have had insistent'missing' in the engine. It has been up at Rolls-Royce on two occasions and they tell me that this was due to dirty plugs. I was certain in my own mind that it was not the case as the engine had never missed previously. The trouble, I have now discovered, was due to faulty condenser in the distributor. A new one has been fitted and the carburetters continued...... | ||
