Re: R.R.A.I. and "SS{S. Smith}" cars.

I have just seen copy of Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG21.1.29. The position is that Mr. Fuller has been written to very fully by BJ. since the former was last in England, in regard to the introduction of "SS{S. Smith}" cars. He was cabled after the December Board Meeting saying that it was proposed to introduce the new chassis in time for next Olympia Show, and he was again cabled as soon as the decision was taken.

Mr. Fuller is fully aware as to our programme and has been asked to let us know what they have decided to do in regard to manufacturing "SS{S. Smith}" chassis in America, or purchasing from us.

Additionally, we have agreed to take the risk of manufacturing 3 left-handed experimental chassis without waiting to hear what the American programme really is, and we feel that as we are now really waiting to hear from them, it would be unwise for us to make suggestions in regard to sending one of our experimental cars over there.

I am sending you this information so that you will understand how matters stand between the two Companies on this point.
