V4094. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}1/MA. July 22nd. 1932. The Adamant Engineering Co. Ltd., Dallow Road, LUTON. Dear Sirs, You will remember that in 1928 you built up a Marles steering box to suit our cars. We wish now to carry out further tests on this type of steering. Would you let us know of any improvements that have been effected in the Marles steering since then, and if any, what effect they have on the efficiency of the mechanism in both directions i.e. while steering and self centring. Will you also let us know how the Marles steering compares with the "Saginaw" steering which we have tried on a Cadillac car and found very good as regards elimination of road shocks. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
