but to fit dynamos with parallel slots.

WIRING.

Mr. Cole of the Lucas Company came over here yesterday and we understand that it has been arranged between the various departments of the works concerned, for him to initiate some of our own men as to the wiring or one or two chassis, under the supervision of the experimental drawing office representative. This work should now be in progress.

DYNAMO DRIVING PULLEY.

We understand the Works have received instructions to make 25 driving pulleys to drawing No.F.7435, pulleys of this size to be used until the necessary modification to the gear box can be brought about to overcome the rubbing of the driving belt. After this modification pulleys should be of the slightly smaller diameter and it would appear that it would be better for us to manufacture these.

BATTERIES.

We are not impressed with any of the Lucas batteries with which we have had to deal. There have been several minor troubles with these, such as frothing, leaks developing, etc.. We think it very unlikely that Messrs. Lucas will produce a better battery than the Chloride or the Tudor Companies when they have perfected theirs. The Tudor Company have only just started on chassis batteries, but shew every promise of making a very good job of these in a comparatively short time. In our own opinion it will be sufficient to keep the Chloride and the Tudor Companies in competition and not to worry about any other batteries. EPC.
