EFC. CJ/DL26.4.20.

As in the near future, the cost of postages and telegrams will be considerably increased, the organisation of the Company should be so arranged that as far as possible one envelope per day should contain all correspondence, invoices, etc. sent to a customer or firm - that is to say, all the documents which are to be posted should be accumulated at one centre and one of the staff made responsible for seeing that this is carried out.

All letters should be sent to the Mailing Dept. without envelopes - that is to say, the typists should not type the envelopes, but the Mailing Dept. should accumulate the letters and then insert all the letters in one envelope.

As regards telegrams, the staff should be instructed to get into the habit of not using superfluous words in telegrams, so that when the new charges come into force, we shall be used to the new conditions and thus prevent unnecessary expenditure of money.
