"AUTOVAC" TANK.

We were recently discussing with K.{Mr Kilner} and By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} whether it is desirable to have some form of plug at the bottom of the autovac tanks to enable them to be cleaned out.

We rather came to the conclusion that this was a matter for us to judge from experience.

Attach is a copy of CWB7/LH{Mr Haworth}27.11.24.

In running the cars on the Continent for 10,000 miles, have the autovac tanks been cleaned out? If not, can you please arrange for them to be carefully examined to ascertain whether sediment or dirt has accumulated?
