Investigation into a 'back firing' engine trouble, detailing parts changed and the results.

We immediately started to investigate the back firing trouble. It was thought for some time that this trouble was confined to this particular car as efforts to reproduce the same results on Expl 30H cars were unsuccessful.
We therefore made a series of engine part changes to locate the source of the firing.
The following work has been done, and is set out in the days as follows:-

Wednesday 6th afternoon.
2 Different cyl heads changed, this included removing one from an Expl car, and one from a test bed unit.
Result - no change.

Thursday 7th
A new cyl block fitted and tried with the original cyl head.
2. Low sets of different sparking plugs tried.
Result - no change.
