We have received your telegram to-day:-
SENDING COMPLETE HYPOID AXLE ALSO SENDING PROPELLOR SHAFT TO SUIT STANDARD AXLE UNLESS SAT WITHIN YOU CAN BORROW STANDARD AXLE FROM PARIS. HIVES.

and sent you a reply:-
ONLY TRIALS CAR AXLE AVAILABLE AT PARIS STOP STATE WHEN NEW AXLE WILL ARRIVE.

Unfortunately, the Paris Depot is closed owing to holidays, but we were able to get hold of Mr. Allen who gave us our information. They have no spare axles there, and the only 20-HP car they have is the Trials car which is at the present moment at the Coachbuilders. We do not know definitely until morning whether he will allow us to have it or not. Mr. Allen has promised to telephone us a definite decision in the morning. If we can obtain the axle, we will proceed to Paris to make the change over, possibly we may be able to get a distance piece made to fit the Propellor shaft. If not, it means that we shall have to wait until you send the propellor shaft out to Paris.

We are continuing to run the car, as the amount of wear does not seem to have increased a great amount during the last 2 or 3 days, and we thought it would be better to get in some mileage, rather than hold the car up indefinitely.

I take it that you will require the axle taken off to be sent direct back to Derby.
