No. 2. V.O.Co., Ltd. to Rolls-Royce Limited, Derby.

The condition of this oil is better than we should expect in an engine where deposits were accumulating, as we understand has occurred in certain parts in the engine under test. We had hoped that the analysis would have enabled us to arrive at the cause of such deposits, and we had also hoped that it would have been possible for you to furnish us with samples of actual deposits taken from the engine, as no doubt the analyses of these might have given further information. If any of these deposits have been kept, we should greatly appreciate an opportunity of analysing them.

We shall be very interested to discuss this matter further with you at any time convenient to yourselves if you feel that this would assist in any way in eliminating similar difficulties in the future.

Yours faithfully,
VACUUM OIL COMPANY LIMITED
