-2- Conditions. The conditions under which the endurance was carried out are as follows. 1st. 18 hrs. Each hour (a) 15 mins. at 3000 r.p.m. 15 mins. at 3500 r.p.m. 30 mins. at 4000 r.p.m. Each 10 hours. (b) 7 hrs. - full load. 2 hrs. - half load. 1 hr. - quarter load. Last 32 hrs. 2 hrs. half load and 1 hr. quarter load in each 10 hrs. run under condition (a). 7 hrs. in each 10 hrs. as follows. 1 hr. at 3000 r.p.m. 1 hr. at 3500 r.p.m. 1 hr. at 4000 r.p.m. 10 mins. at 4250 r.p.m. 5 mins. at 4500 r.p.m. Fuel. Part time on Redline (No.1) fuel, and part time on Shell (No.1). Oil. Motorine 'C' at an inlet temperature to bearings of 100°C outlet 110°C. Press. 35/40 lbs.sq.in. Exhaust. Test bed exhaust system which loses approx. only 5% to open exhaust power. | ||
