"Goshawk 11" - Laminated Road Springs.

A copy of Wor {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 's note ref.- Wor {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 10/M18.11.21 was duly sent to Thos. Firth & Sons Ltd. and we are now in receipt of their reply, dated 21st inst. as follows:-

"We are in receipt of your letter of the 19th "inst. and very much appreciate Mr. Wormald's remarks.
"We can assure you that we are doing everything "in our power to hasten the delivery of these top "leaves, but naturally as the plant is only in its "infancy it is difficult to get these through as "quickly as one would like.
"We think it a very good idea for you to make "up say a dozen top plates and to test them against "those of our manufacture, as it would give us an "opportunity of satisfying ourselves that our methods "are correct. If you will let us know the section "and the amount of steel you require we will roll it "this week, and we will endeavour to supply it from "the same cast of material as we are using, so as to "make the test as comparable as possible.
"At our Mills are working so intermittently, we "think it advisable for you to telegraph us the size "required."

If Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} will be good enough to furnish the particulars which Firths require, I will see that same are telegraphed to them at once.

Wd. {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead}
