"Goshawk 11" - Laminated Road Springs X4429

On the 17th inst. I notified Thos.Firth & Sons of certain minor alterations in dimensions of certain of the springs for "Goshawk 11", and requested them to correct the prints in their possession.

We are now in receipt of their acknowledgement, dated 18th inst. as follows:-

"These alterations, we are sorry to say, unfortunately
"cause us to have to make a further set of dies for rolling
"the eyes at the rear of the top leaf, and render the dies
"which we were just completing of no use for manufacturing
"your springs. However, we have directed the new dies
"to be made as quickly as possible, but it will probably
"mean a further delay in the delivery of the six sample
"master leaves which we are making for you.

"We have informed Messrs. Firth-Derihon Stampings Ltd.
"of these alterations who are stamping the solid eye on
"the top leaves, but we do not think it will mean a big
"alteration to their tools."
