Dear Sirs,

I am directed to acknowledge receipt of your letter RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}10/JMS. dated the 25th ultimo, and have to inform you that authority has been received from the D.O.F. to carry on with this contract.

Should the barrel forgings be delivered as stated, by the 12th August, we will make our first issues at the end of August at the rate of four per week, until the sixty barrels are completed - making a total of sixty two of these barrels to Drawing No. Q.1270.
