Potential causes of clutch slip on a Bentley chassis, questioning if it's caused by the lubrication system.

BENTLEY CHASSIS. --------------------------------- We attach hereto a memo we have received from Sales, reference H16/NM.14.11.34. The case referred to is reported by MK.{R. E. B. Meade-King}, as being in his opinion caused by excessive use of the centralised lubrication system. We cannot see, however, that this will be likely to cause clutch slip as the oil from the centralised system does not reach the friction surfaces. Our experience generally, is that Bentley clutches are not prone to suffer from clutch slip but we have had one or two isolated cases of slip which in one case we have definitely been able to attribute to bad driving and which has resulted in the clutch being burnt out twice. We shall be glad to have your remarks on this subject. Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} BB | ||
