We received your telegram last night :-

" Please omit felt behind flywheel Tail bearing, has oilite "
" bush worn. "

The Oilite bush does not look to have worn and no appreciable slackness can be felt.

With regard to the felt behind the Clutch, we sent you a report yesterday the 10th inst., stating that we have been working on a scheme to try and delete the oil leak from the rear bearing. In our scheme, we had taken the felt out of the recess but have fitted a felt on the flange, nearest the Fly-wheel. Our scheme which we have fitted up ready for trial is as follows.

We are collecting the air pressure produced by the flywheel at its periphery, and by an air conduit taking it to the annulus where the felt was situated. By sealing the outer edge close to the flywheel, the air pressure should be sufficient to keep the oil from coming through the acme thread. We have fitted a pipe into the annulus as a fixture to measure the air pressure.

T. Fisher arrived at noon to-day, and at present is busy working on the cylinder block. The Gear Box has been stripped and several faults noticed; the bronze bushes on the secondary shaft has seized and the one in the direct drive housing. The centre partition of the box is being starved of oil. We are looking to see whether this can be altered.
