re. 40/50 and 20-HP. Vibration and Body Booming.

With further reference to our report EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}9/H2.10.24. we have now had an opportunity of testing a 20-HP car fitted with a Lansdulet type of body on which a special sub-frame structure for body support has been fixed.

Generally speaking, there appeared to be less booming taking place in this car, but whether this was due to the special sub-frame structure or the body itself not originally being a boomy type of body, we consider is a doubtful point. We believe it is the intention of the Experimental Dept. to try the car again with the sub-frame put out of action.

We suggest that the best test for this scheme would be to take a known complete car which suffers from booms and fix to it the sub-frame scheme.

There was a noticeable feeling when sitting in the back of the car as though the body did not go with the chassis. This is the feeling which we think may cause customer to complain of sea-sickness.
