Engineer}1/BA.3.1.40. Blue Prints for Production of Experimental Parts. The Experimental shop have complained that we have not supplied them with enough blue prints of details. Their requirements are as follows:- (i) 2 Prints of LOP. (ii) 1 Scheme or Arrangement print. (iii) 2 Prints of all details other than castings made in the factory. (iv) 4 Prints of all details involving castings. (v) 3 prints of any part which is bought out, such as gaskets, steering rollers, rubber mouldings. (vi) In addition to the above Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s Dept. require 1 print of every scheme when it is issued and (vii) 1 additional print marked up with piece numbers at the same time as the details are issued. Some of the special bought out parts are usually ordered direct by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s. Dept. In the past there has been no system by which HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth} has been aware of which parts we have ordered, with the risk that some parts may be ordered twice. We suggest the following procedure for the issue of the prints. Issue of Schemes. One print of scheme (vii) to be sent to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} with covering note. A second print (ii) to be sent to HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth} with a copy of the covering note. continued. | ||
