re. 40/50 Luggage Grid Fixing and Spare
Wheel Carrier - 81-TC.

In testing the above car yesterday, I was very much upset to find that this chassis was one fitted with the extended frame for the purpose of fixing R.R. luggage carrier but that some "foreign" luggage carrier had been fitted, (Mulliners).

Mr. Gale and also the Coachbuilder's representative pointed out to me certain features as regards the frame fittings which should be altered in order that other luggage carriers than our own could be fitted, and several alterations were suggested as regards design for this to be done.

A further point on this car is the Spare wheel carrier. Is it not yet possible to fix the standard R-R type? This one I understand from Mr. Gale is supplied by Mulliners and one of the best of its type. I still consider, however, that this design is not in keeping with the R-R standard, and would not be approved by W.W. As pointed out to Mr. Gale, we should at least get the
