Structure and content of a new, two-part instruction book for car owners.

2. short book to show him briefly what he has to do to his car each week, or each month, or when the car has run so many miles, and he would refer to the large book when he was in trouble over any particular portion of the car. Will you kindly look through the book from this point of view, and consider whether it could be easily divided as suggested, taking care to make the first book as short and simple as possible, and to make a feature of the time-table, showing the time necessary to do all the operations connected with lubrication and cleaning ". We have consequently divided the proofs to form two books, one merely consisting of the short notes in Chapters 1 - V together with the notes which appear in heavy type in the electrical pamphlet. The illustrations in this booklet would be confined to a plan and elevation of the chassis and the two wiring diagrams from the electrical pamphlet. This booklet we have named "The Lubrication and Adjustment of Rolls-Royce Cars". You will observe that BJ asks us to add to these operations the time which it is estimated each one should take. We believe this was done some years ago but dropped later. Perhaps you will let us hear from you in connection with this point. The remainder of the proof will comprise the Instruction Book proper to which reference will be made in most of the notes in the small book in order that any one who requires to know more details of some part of his car than that given in the small book, can obtain such information by refer- | ||
