Re. Post War Chassis Instruction Book.

Proofs of the above have been submitted to Sales and BJ replies as follows :-

" At a Conference between CJ, C, PN{Mr Northey}, and BJ, yester-day , it was considered that the Instruction Book has grown to such an extent that it is likely to mislead people into considering that the Rolls-Royce is an extremely complicated and delicate car that requires a vast amount of attention. The very care that we take in explaining every detail in the Instruction Book is likely to be the cause of this misunderstanding if the book is compared with the comparatively short and simple books which are issued by other Companies.

Under these circumstances, it is considered desirable that the book should be divided into two or three distinct books.

1. A very short and simple book, stating briefly what a driver should do to keep his car on the road, namely, how it should be lubricated and cleaned, and also what should be done to keep the electrical equipment in good order and condition.
2. A large book, showing how the car should be driven and how any adjustments should be made; full descriptions of the parts of the car. By this means, a driver would refer to the
